Demon Slayer: Tanjiro becomes a ghost, Nezuko becomes a pillar!

Chapter 31 My Wife Shanyi

Chapter 31 My Wife Shanyi

Inside the wooden cabin on Mount Sagiri.

Urokodaki was holding a white fox mask with a pink bow on the forehead.

This was clearly prepared by Linlong for Nizuko.

Because at this moment, Mizuko had also washed up and changed into a pink outfit, with a Nichirin Blade at her waist, and was looking at Urokodaki with a hopeful expression.

"I didn't expect you to be able to cut it, and I didn't want you to participate in the Demon Slayer Corps selection!"

As Urokodaki looked at the fox mask in his hand, his thoughts drifted back to the children he had taught in the past.

Upon hearing this, Midouzi revealed a sweet smile.

"Master Urokodaki, please believe me!"

This time, Mi Douzi no longer used the honorific "Mr." but instead called him "Master".

She hadn't changed her ways before because she felt she might not be able to inherit Mr. Urokodaki's mantle.

But now, she's done it!

This change also made Urokodaki realize that Mizuko had made up her mind.

"This is a mask I made; I hope it will ward off misfortune and bring you good luck!"

After saying that, Urokodaki handed the mask to Mizuko.

Looking at the mask in her hand that was exactly the same as Sabito and Makomo's, Mizuko also realized that Master Urokodaki had given each of his disciples their own unique characteristics.

Looking at the pink bow on the mask, Mizuko bowed gratefully to Master Urokodaki.

"Master Urokodaki, don't worry, I will succeed!"

After saying that, Mizuko put on her mask and turned to head towards Fujikasayama.

But after running a few steps, she seemed to remember something, suddenly stopped, turned around to look at Urokodaki standing at the door, and called out.

"Master Urokodaki, I'm leaving now. Take care! Also, please give my thanks to Sabito and Makomo!"

As soon as she finished speaking, she turned around and ran towards Tengxi Mountain without looking back.

The man behind her, Urokodaki, who was waving at her, froze on the spot the moment he heard those two names.

The eyes beneath the Tengu mask widened instantly, filled with disbelief and shock, and even his breath caught in his throat.

"Nie Douzi, how...how do you know the names of those two children?"

When Mi Douzi passed by the familiar stream at the foot of the mountain, she stopped, bent down, and scooped up a handful of clear water.

The cool water flowed through her fingertips, instantly transporting her thoughts back to the cabin on Mount Sagiri.

The image of Master Urokodaki frozen in place, Sabito's strict instructions, Makomo's gentle encouragement, and the sleeping older brother Tanjiro.

"Brother, wait for me to come back."

Midouzi murmured softly to the stream, a determined smile curving her lips beneath the mask.

"I will definitely become a member of the Demon Slayer Corps, heal you, and destroy those evil demons!"

The closer you get to Mount Fuji, the colder and more gloomy the surrounding atmosphere becomes.

The once melodious birdsong gradually faded away, replaced by the whistling of the wind through the woods, with a faint scent of wisteria and blood lingering in the air.

Mizuko gripped the Nichirin Blade at her waist, her senses heightened, and she warily surveyed her surroundings.

After walking for an unknown amount of time, a figure suddenly appeared in the woods ahead.

It was a boy dressed in a black team uniform, with a Nichirin Blade at his waist, looking around nervously and anxiously.

Sensing Nezuko's presence, the boy turned his head sharply and a look of surprise flashed in his eyes when he saw the fox mask on her face.

"Are you here to participate in the selection as well?"

Ni Douzi nodded without saying anything more.

The boy seemed to have gotten used to silence; he simply smiled at her and then turned to continue walking forward.

Along the way, Midouzi encountered many other young men and women just like them.

However, one boy caught Mizuko's attention.

It was a boy about the same age as her, dressed in yellow clothes and with yellow hair.

The boy was different from the others. While the others were more or less nervous, his eyes were full of determination.

The only one with blond hair had his face filled with fear, like a frightened rabbit, helplessly circling in the crowd, clutching the sleeve of the person next to him and refusing to let go.

"I'm going to die! I'm going to die! Please, take me with you! I don't want to be eaten by ghosts!"

The boy cried and screamed, his face covered in tears and snot, his expression exaggerated to the point of being comical.

"Shut up! You coward! If you're scared, don't participate in the selection!"

A young man in a purple outfit next to him frowned and growled menacingly.

He had sharp eyes and a fierce look, with a deep scar on his face, making him look like someone you shouldn't mess with.

But the blond boy was not frightened by his ferocity at all. Instead, he seemed to have grasped a lifeline, his eyes filled with fear as he glanced at the dark forest deep in the wisteria flower sea, his hands gripping even tighter.

"Ghosts are terrifying! They really do eat people! They'll gnaw them down to the bones!"

"Phew—let go of me!"

The purple-clad youth took a deep breath, gritted his teeth, and tried to shake him off; the ferocity on his face was almost unbearable.

"You don't want to be a swordsman? I'd love to be one!"

He really couldn't understand why this blond kid was so fixated on him, even though he had acted so fiercely.

The harder he pushed, the tighter the kid clung to him, until finally he clung to him like an unshakeable rice cake.

The next second, the purple-clad boy watched helplessly as the blond-haired kid wiped his snot and tears all over his clothes.

"Hey! What are you doing?! Where are you smearing it?!"

He instantly bristled, his voice cracking.

"Huh? What are you putting on?" The blond boy looked bewildered, crying even harder. "Don't leave me! I don't want to die!"

"Hey! Don't stick your snot up your face!"

"Bang—!"

The purple-clad youth finally lost his temper, let out a low growl, slammed the blond-haired youth to the ground, and charged into the forest without looking back.

Mi Douzi witnessed the whole scene. She could clearly sense that the purple-clad boy wasn't as fierce as he appeared, while the blond-haired boy was genuinely terrified.

Perhaps out of compassion, she stepped forward and approached the blond-haired boy.

"How are you?"

The blond-haired boy heard the girl's voice, and his hand, which was wiping away tears, paused. He thought he had met his goddess.

He then whirled around, crying, "Goddess, save me! I... Huh?"

Just as the boy was about to cry out, he saw a girl dressed in pink and wearing a fox mask.

Although the mask concealed the girl's face, the boy's ears twitched a few times at that moment.

"Are you really the goddess sent by heaven to save me?"

The blond-haired boy stared blankly at Midouzi, forgetting all his fear of ghosts for a moment.

Ni Douzi chuckled softly from beneath the mask.

"No, my name is Kamado Nezuko, and I came with you to participate in the Demon Slayer Corps selection!"

"Nie, Dou, Zi! What lovely names!"

"What's your name?"

"My name is Zenitsu Agatsuma!"

"Zenitsu! Nice to meet you!"
