Chapter 896 - 893: Epilogue (Part 2)

"You..." Nathan Leafcastle took a deep breath, "What are you planning to do?""I..." Sally Dalton lowered her gaze, "I haven’t decided yet, maybe... just... get rid of it?"

Before, she had always been trying hard to keep him, to keep him by her side.

After all these events, Sally realized that doing so was meaningless, just like Irene Spencer, who loved Kris Cooper for so many years, loved him to the point of madness, but in the end, it only hurt the other person.

If her love was a shackle to him, she would rather give him freedom.

Nathan’s eyes dimmed a bit, and he spoke softly.

"These past few days... thank you for taking care of me so much."

"It’s nothing!" Sally took a deep breath, her tone sounding very casual and normal, "Anyway, we’re friends, it’s... what’s expected." She offered the cup again, "Have a drink and rest for a bit."

Nathan took a couple of sips from the cup she offered. His eyes fell on her pale face, and he spoke softly.

"You should go rest too, the nurses can take care of me here."

"What?" Sally slightly lifted the corners of her mouth, "Afraid I won’t take good care of you?"

Nathan hurried to explain, "No... that’s not what I meant, I... I’m just afraid you’ll get tired."

"It’s okay, I’m not tired." Sally put down the cup and took a tissue to wipe the corner of his lips, "You sleep, don’t worry about me, I’m fine."

After he gets discharged, their relationship was to end, and now was her last chance to take care of him. Sally didn’t want to miss it.

"The doctor said, you’ll be moved to a regular ward tomorrow, and if you recover well, you can be discharged in a week." Sally cupped her hands around the cup, "Before you’re discharged, I will stay with you, and once... once you’re discharged, I... I will return to Singapore."

"You’re going back?"

"Yes!" she responded lightly, "I... I’ve made arrangements with a school for further studies."

As she spoke, Sally gently placed one hand on her lower abdomen.

Nathan’s fingers, resting on the blanket, slowly clenched as if trying to grasp something, but after a moment, they gradually relaxed.

"That... might be for the best."

She had made her decision. What right did he have to make her stay, or to make her keep the child, just because he was the father?

That would be too selfish of him!

"You must be tired!" Sally relaxed her expression, lifted her face, and smiled at him, "Rest well for a while, I’ll step out for a bit and be right back."

Nathan lightly agreed, and Sally stood up, walking out of the ward.

Leaving the Residential Building, she headed to the Outpatient Building, went straight to the Laboratory, picked up her test results, and returned to the Gynaecology and Obstetrics Department.

The doctor carefully reviewed all her test results and nodded with a smile, "Well, everything looks good... all indicators are normal. Go home, be sure to rest, enhance your nutrition, and at twelve weeks, you can schedule your prenatal check-up."

"Thank you."

Sally put her test results and documents into her handbag, asked the doctor some precautions, and then left the ward of the Gynaecology and Obstetrics Department.

The so-called further studies were just an excuse. She didn’t want to get rid of the child. Over the past few days, she had decided she wanted to give birth to this child and accompany him as he grows up.
