Chapter 162, Part 2: Invite Dumbledore
Chapter 162 The Second Invitation to Dumbledore
There was a knock on the principal's office door, and Minerva McGonagall walked in, followed by a little girl.
"Albus, the Ministry of Magic has taken Xenophilius Lovegood away, leaving Luna behind."
Behind her, a small head covered in fluffy, light golden hair peeked out.
"This little girl came to us on her own. She said she saw a report in the Daily Prophet that Hogwarts had captured Voldemort, which made dark wizards afraid to mess with Hogwarts students."
Minerva's expression appeared tense and angry, but beneath it lay a hint of surprise.
The surprise came from an owl that delivered a letter. Upon opening it, she found it was signed Luna Lovegood and detailed how her father had been captured by a "lawless dark wizard," hoping that Hogwarts could help her rescue him and provide her with some protection.
After receiving the letter, he thought it was a prank, but thinking that if it was real, he would help if he could, so he went to Lovegood's house and found the little witch sitting on the doorstep, staring blankly into the distance.
Only after seeing him did the little witch's eyes light up, and her first words were: "Hello, are you a professor at Hogwarts? My house has been invaded by a dark wizard, and I hope you can help me."
Professor McGonagall explained the situation.
At this moment, Luna also stepped forward and earnestly repeated, "Those people are dark wizards! They don't follow reason or wizarding laws! Only dark wizards would do this!"
Dumbledore nodded slightly. He wanted to tell the little girl that the ones who truly disobeyed wizarding laws were those who had the power to create them.
However, considering the child was still young and not suited to be too involved in adult matters, he comforted Luna and agreed to her request: "Miss Lovegood, please rest assured, we will not allow any innocent person to be persecuted."
Harry, who had been learning how to control his powers from Dumbledore all this time, couldn't believe what he was hearing.
He couldn't understand why officials from the Ministry of Magic would knowingly violate the law! He couldn't understand why the Minister of Magic, a big figure in the British magical world, would sign such a ministerial order.
He felt a growing aversion to the Ministry of Magic.
"Albus, you should write a letter to Fudge and warn him not to do anything he shouldn't." Minerva McGonagall gently patted Luna's head, soothing her as she relaxed a bit because of Dumbledore's promise.
"Someone's at the door again," Dumbledore said. "Let's hear what this one has to say."
Dumbledore finished speaking.
After a couple of seconds, Minerva McGonagall also turned her gaze toward the door.
Then someone knocked on the door and entered the principal's office.
"Kingsley Shackles, what brings Fudge here?" Dumbledore asked.
"To inform Mr. Dumbledore that a disturbance occurred during a march in Diagon Alley today. The Ministry of Magic sent Aurors to mediate and calm the situation, but to no avail. After Ms. Umbridge, one of the Undersecretaries of the Ministry of Magic, went to Diagon Alley, the conflict escalated."
Kingsley spoke very quickly and clearly, showing no sign of panic: "Right now, the wizards who went to the Ministry of Magic to offer their advice have breached the Ministry and surrounded Fudge. So Fudge asked me to come and invite you to the scene to ensure the safety of the Ministry's staff."
Harry felt young and ignorant, unable to understand what adult advice was.
Dumbledore frowned slightly. Based on his assessment of the current state of the wizarding world, he believed that such a thing was unlikely to happen.
But thinking of Fudge's ministerial order and Larvin's own troubles, his brow relaxed. "I already know about this."
"Mr. Dumbledore, to be honest, Fudge's misdeeds have incited public outrage, which is enough to explain why he is facing what he has today—it is a case of karmic retribution. If he weren't the Minister for Magic, or even if he weren't in the Ministry of Magic today, a protest wouldn't be such a serious matter."
Kingsley, recalling his and Scrimgeour's assessment, subtly stated his position: "However, as Minister for Magic, if he were to be cornered in his office and remonstrated with in the Ministry—the Ministry's prestige would be tarnished."
"In that case, I'll go." Dumbledore sized up the Ministry of Magic Auror and then agreed to Kingsley's request.
He stopped Professor McGonagall, who was turning to go to the Ministry of Magic: "Minerva, you stay at the school and don't let the students break the rules. I'll take Harry Potter and Luna Lovegood with me and we'll be right back."
Harry Potter was startled upon hearing this, for it was a story unknown to others.
However, before leaving Hogwarts today, Senior Ryan came to find him and handed him a brocade pouch, saying that he could open the pouch whenever Headmaster Dumbledore wanted to take him out.
Harry Potter accepted the pouch without a second thought; he couldn't imagine what could possibly make the headmaster take a first-year student like him out.
But in the current situation, the headmaster is taking him to the Ministry of Magic to calm and appease the wizards who have come to offer their advice!
He quietly opened the brocade pouch, took out a small piece of parchment inside, on which were written a few words:
Today I saw that a march was going to take place in Diagon Alley. Although the prophecy was not clear, I know the cause and effect.
Fudge may have been guided by some strange ideas, believing that the minister was entitled to everything. As a result, some people opposed him, such as Senior Scholar Ralph and Mr. Arthur.
You may not know Senior Ralph, but he was the Hogwarts Student Council President when I was a freshman.
His plan was meticulous, but it was not without its flaws. Of course, this was because the die was cast, so he was confident that he could completely escalate the conflict with the Ministry of Magic, clear his name, and turn the march into a mutiny.
And you are the magical supernova carefully crafted by the headmaster, Mr. Gale, and the teachers, the savior who wields the power of the Dark Lord, a banner.
Therefore, the headmaster will definitely go to the Ministry of Magic, firstly to clear Larvin's name, and secondly to finalize the appointment of the next Minister for Magic. He will also certainly take you with him, putting you in the spotlight so that Harry Potter's name can once again resonate in the wizarding world.
I know that facing countless wizards in the magical world is indeed difficult for a first-year student to accept and confront. My advice is to clear your mind and listen to the headmaster's instructions.
Ryan Wales.
"Harry, Luna, have you ever experienced a follower appearing?" Dumbledore noticed Harry opening a sachet to look at a note, but he knew without looking who had given it to Harry, so he didn't ask.
Both young wizards shook their heads.
"Then it seems we'll need a door key."
In front of Auror Kingsley, Dumbledore casually picked up a piece of old silverware, which looked like a crushed silver pot with a round bottom.
The wand touched it, and the silverware emitted a bright blue light, which gradually dimmed and faded, then vibrated with a buzzing sound and returned to its original state.
"Put your hands on this silverware," he said to Luna and Harry.
