Chapter 43 Three-Foot God
Chapter 43 Three-Foot God
In the past, Shang Yun traveled through time more than 500 times using the time travel machine in the Temple of the Gods, experiencing the human world's birth, aging, sickness, and death, joy, anger, sorrow, and happiness. Although he gained insights, he still had some unreal feelings deep in his heart, always thinking that it was just an illusion, like a movie.
Now Shang Yun also realized this. After bidding farewell to everyone, he first continued to travel the world to conclude his own enlightenment. When he reached the critical point, Shang Yun flew up to the Heavenly God Temple, greeted the Heavenly God and Mr. Bobo, and used the space of the Heavenly God Temple to enter a state of meditation and tranquility.
On a tranquil, full moon night, Shang Yun soared into the air, flying towards the bright moon hanging high in the sky. His figure streaked across the night sky like a shooting star, carrying both determination and anticipation as he sped towards the cold, desolate moon. When his feet lightly touched the moon's barren and mysterious land, Shang Yun slowly sat cross-legged. At this moment, his heart was filled with mixed emotions. There was both trepidation about the unknown path of cultivation and longing for breaking through his bottleneck. He closed his eyes and concentrated, trying to completely immerse his mind and body in this vast universe. Initially, his thoughts were like wild horses, difficult to tame.
In this endless silence and nothingness, Shang Yun tried to empty his mind, as if groping in the dark for a path to merge with the universe. Time quietly passed, and he gradually became able to clearly perceive the subtle rhythm of cosmic energy—an existence that transcended time and space, so vast and profound that it filled him with awe, so mysterious and great that it almost made him lose himself. He didn't know how much time had passed when, when he opened his eyes again, a dazzling light came into view. It was the sun, distant and scorching, relentlessly radiating endless light and heat. "The sun's radiance fills the vast universe, the golden crow's flames illuminate the long sky." Its light was dazzling, like an arrow piercing the curtain of the heavens; its heat was scorching, like flames burning the waves of the ocean. At dawn, it rises, scattering its morning light to warm the world; at dusk, it rests, sprinkling its afterglow to reflect the rosy clouds. It hangs high in the universe, endlessly revolving, witnessing the vicissitudes of life.
Shang Yun gazed at the sun, a strange sense of awe welling up within him. He felt the sun's intense heat, as if it could instantly melt everything in the world—a power that filled him with awe. He also felt the sun's indifference; it remained unmoved by anything, silently following its own trajectory—a loneliness and resoluteness that touched him deeply. Amidst this heat and indifference, Shang Yun's thoughts drifted to the Great Sun Buddha of Zen Buddhism.
Vairocana Buddha, like the sun high in the sky, looks down upon all living beings with compassionate eyes. Its radiance illuminates every corner of the world, bringing warmth and hope, allowing all things to grow and thrive. This compassion inspires Shang Yun's reverence. However, when evil and darkness run rampant in the world, Vairocana Buddha's punishment is as merciless as the blazing sun, capable of instantly destroying all evil. This impartial and strict justice makes him ponder deeply. Both the sun and Vairocana Buddha are thus both compassionate and ruthless, seemingly heartless yet deeply compassionate. They are impartial and selfless, showing no favoritism to any side of the world, treating all things with absolute fairness.
Shang Yun was immersed in this profound realization, his mind struck as if by lightning, instantly enlightened. In that instant, an overwhelming surge of excitement and exhilaration welled up within him. He slowly raised his hands, palms facing upward, as if to lift the weight of the entire universe. His arms trembled slightly, and as his breathing gradually became steady, that power slowly gathered within him.
Shang Yun knew he had made a breakthrough and had once again comprehended a new combat technique.
This combat technique involves projecting one's spirit into the void three feet above one's head, thus entering a state of absolute rationality and reason. Shang Yun took a deep breath, clasped his hands together in front of his chest, closed his eyes tightly, and concentrated all his mental energy. His body leaned back slightly, veins bulging in his neck, as if he were fighting against an invisible force. Gradually, his spirit, like a wisp of smoke, slowly rose, condensing into a faint ball of light three feet above his head. At this moment, Shang Yun's mind was calmer than ever before. He could feel the emotions surging deep within him, like a tamed beast, powerful yet no longer out of control.
In this state, a person's emotions are not extinguished; instead, they become a source of power. Driven by emotions, people are often able to unleash even greater strength. However, ordinary people are easily overwhelmed by emotions, losing their rationality and making poor judgments, leading to uncontrolled actions. The combat technique that Shang Yun has mastered, however, allows one to maintain a clear mind even under extreme emotional states, remaining unaffected by emotions and thus unleashing absolute, 100% of their current strength.
Shang Yun knew that the key to this combat skill lay in inner balance and control. He recalled his various experiences in the mortal world, the mistakes he made due to emotions, and the regrets he felt for losing his temper. He had once injured someone in anger, and lost his way in ecstasy; those past experiences were like thorns in his back, constantly reminding him of the importance of cultivation. Now, he had finally found a way to transcend the shackles of emotion.
……
Among the distant stars, a round spaceship is hurtling toward Earth like a shooting star.

This deity will illuminate you, allowing you to maintain absolute rationality and not be controlled by any emotions. You will be able to fully unleash your absolute, 100% strength in your current state. Please name it."
"Zen Mind? Divine Power Within Three Feet!"
Shang Yun named his newly mastered combat skill "Zen Mind - Three Feet of Divine Power," implying that there is a divine presence three feet above one's head, constantly reminding himself to maintain a sense of awe in his actions and thoughts, and to control the power of emotions with absolute rationality and reason.
To master this combat skill, Shang Yun began a long and arduous training period on the moon. Day and night, he immersed himself in a deep exploration of his own spirit and emotions, constantly adjusting and refining himself. Each training session was a challenge to his inner limits; each breakthrough was a sublimation of self-awareness.
During his cultivation, Shang Yun encountered numerous difficulties and challenges. He discovered that accurately focusing his spirit on the void three feet above his head was no easy feat. It required a high degree of condensation and control over spiritual power, demanding extremely keen perception and powerful concentration. Moreover, the ability to quickly enter a state of absolute rationality when emotions surged required repeated practice and refinement. Initially, he often failed at the last moment when concentrating his spirit, and his emotions frequently overwhelmed his rational defenses, leaving him feeling frustrated and defeated.
However, Shang Yun was not deterred by these difficulties. With unwavering faith and tenacious perseverance, he steadily advanced towards the pinnacle of combat skills. He spent countless days and nights on the moon, experiencing countless failures and setbacks. But each failure deepened his understanding of the essence of combat skills; each setback strengthened his resolve to succeed. He constantly reminded himself that this was a trial by fire, and only through perseverance could he achieve his goal.
……
Just as Shang Yun was diligently cultivating "Zen Mind - Three-Foot Divine Light", a circular spaceship flew into Earth's atmosphere from the other side of the Earth.
