Chapter 540 School Opening
It's snowing again outside, and even heavier this time. Everything outside the window is a vast expanse of white, and you can't see anything at all.
Dumbledore did not stay for dinner. After receiving the letter from Fawkes, he left in a hurry, and before Apparating, he specifically instructed Siren not to leave the Burrow area as much as possible.
"The moment you revealed Tom's Muggle father's identity, it became a fight to the death between you. He would stop at nothing to kill you."
"It's alright—" Siron shrugged nonchalantly. "Even if I hadn't said that, Voldemort wouldn't have let me go, would he?"
"Well, you have a point," said Dumbledore, and then prepared to Apparate.
"Wait a minute, Professor—" Siren suddenly remembered something and quickly said, "Could a member of the Order of the Phoenix deliver a letter to my grandfather for me?"
"Are you worried that Tom will target Mr. Ollivander?"
"That's right."
"Yes, I need to go to Diagon Alley anyway, and I'll go find Garrick then," Dumbledore said.
"And you don't need to worry too much. I've known Garrick for many years, and in my opinion, as long as he takes precautions, it will be difficult for Tom to do anything to him—at least escaping will definitely not be a problem."
Xilun thought so too.
Although Garrick is over eighty years old, age is of no significance in the magical world, and given that he spends his years traversing the perilous magical forest, how could he not have some tricks up his sleeve?
Of course, the reminder was necessary. Sirius didn't believe in Voldemort's character—or rather, Voldemort didn't even have such a thing, since his body, modified by countless dark magic spells, was no longer considered human.
Dumbledore reached out, grabbed Fawkes's tail, and vanished in a flash of fire.
"What a pity," Mrs. Weasley said at dinner. "I made his favorite eggnog pie, and I even added double the amount of honey and syrup."
"But there's nothing we can do about it. There are many things that Dumbledore has to do himself, because those people only recognize him."
""
"What is it, Mom?" Ron asked curiously. "Is it related to the Order of the Phoenix?"
Mrs. Weasley did not answer, but urged Ron to eat quickly.
A few minutes later, Bill came in from outside. He quickly ate a few sandwiches, took the lunchbox that Mrs. Weasley had prepared in advance, and went back out into the heavy snow.
Since Sir Ren was sent back by Fox, Bill has taken over Mrs. Pomfrey's care for Mr. Weasley at St. Mungo's.
Mr. Weasley is recovering well; he's awake and eager to go home. However, since his injuries are mostly due to dark magic, the healer believes it's best to observe him for a while longer.
Mrs. Weasley agreed with this assessment, and besides, she had to protect Sheren and Harry, so she simply didn't have the extra energy to take care of a patient who hadn't fully recovered.
All she could do was make an extra dinner for Mr. Weasley and have Bill take it over.
For Bill, who was skilled in Apparition, the round trip only took a few minutes and was very simple.
Xilun looked on with envy.
He wanted to learn Apparition, but no one would teach him; most of the Order of the Phoenix members had more important things to do and couldn't spare the time. Mrs. Weasley was also busy taking care of her family every day.
Moreover, she only knows how to Apparate and doesn't remember anything about what she needed to pay attention to when learning the spell.
Fortunately, Dumbledore had promised him that he would find a professor to tutor him and Harry next school year, and since then, Siren had been looking forward to the start of school as soon as possible.
Fortunately, he didn't have to wait too long.
After a good night's sleep in their humble abode and enjoying the last day of their holiday, they were ready to return to school.
Early that morning, before dawn, the entrance to the humble dwelling became lively.
Alastor Moody, Kingsley Shackle, Nymphadora Tonks—ten members of the Order of the Phoenix—appeared in the garden in front of the Burrow, with Tonks driving a brand-new car that Siron had never seen before.
The car used to belong to Sirius Black, and Mrs. Weasley, fearing that Bella, who was impersonating him, had tampered with it, insisted on not using it anymore.
"Arthur wants to come too," Moody said at the door, "but I don't think he's fit for this escort mission in his current condition."
"Arthur must be very unhappy," Mrs. Weasley asked.
"He was furious, saying that at least I could get them safely to King's Cross station," but I remember Tonks can drive too.
"I'm a very good driver," Tonks said confidently.
As Siron and his group emerged from the Burrow, dragging suitcases of various sizes, two more cars arrived from the Order of the Phoenix.
"Sirlen, you come with me and Alastor," Bill said, leaning out of the driver's seat. "If you have any luggage, you can give it to me—oh, well, I almost forgot you have that good stuff, the shapeshifting lizard skin bag."
"I rarely use it to pack my luggage," Celen said, putting the deformed lizard skin bag back into her cuff.
His deformed lizard skin bag had only undergone the simplest treatment, and the space inside was not large. If it was stuffed too full, it would easily burst.
But now is clearly not the time to consider these things.
The Phoenix Order guards all looked like they were facing a major enemy, and even sent three cars to take them away. It was best not to do anything unnecessary at this point.
Harry sat with Aurors Kingsley, Tonks, and Mrs. Weasley in the back, while the others were in the last car, driven by an unfamiliar old wizard with curly gray hair and an ugly purple hat.
In the dim sunlight, the car pushed its way through two feet of snow and set off.
I don't know about the other cars, but the car that Xiren was in was very quiet the whole way. No one spoke, and the only sound was the faint sound of the Moody Eye turning.
Almost an hour later, the car still hadn't stopped at the King's Cross station.
Moody believed that if Voldemort and the Death Eaters wanted to ambush them, the best location would be at the entrance of King's Cross Station, where they could wipe everyone out as they disembarked.
So he parked the car two blocks away, and after they got out, they walked for another twenty minutes to reach King's Cross Station.
Siren noticed that Harry kept looking back, as if trying to find a familiar person or a familiar dog in the crowded station.
Silen knew he was looking for Sirius, but Lupin and the others, whom Dumbledore had sent to find Sirius, hadn't returned even once in the past few days, so how could they suddenly appear at King's Cross Station today?
