Chapter 282 A Date with Percy
Chapter 282 A Date with Percy
The next day, Severus and I opened our eyes at the same time, and we lay in bed looking at each other.
Sunlight streamed through the gaps in the curtains, casting dappled rays upon us.
His eyes appeared exceptionally deep in the morning light, his dark pupils seeming to hold countless untold secrets.
I gazed at him quietly; his usually serious and aloof face now seemed unusually gentle in the soft light.
His eyelashes trembled slightly, like butterflies fluttering their wings. I suddenly realized that by observing him so closely, I could discover many details that I had never noticed before.
His gaze fell on my face, but he didn't say anything; we just stared at each other quietly.
A subtle stillness filled the air, as if time itself had frozen at that moment.
We've had so many stories together, arguments, misunderstandings, and moments of supporting each other in the darkness.
At this moment, in this quiet morning, all the past seems to melt away with this simple gaze between us.
His lips twitched slightly, as if he wanted to say something, but then hesitated and stopped.
I saw a hint of hesitation in his eyes; perhaps he was also thinking about how to break the silence.
I gently licked my lips, feeling an urge to speak first, but I couldn't bear to break this rare moment of tranquility.
We are like being pulled by invisible threads, and none of us want to easily break this beautiful moment.
Finally, he reached out and gently stroked my cheek. The warmth of his fingers traveled through my skin, and I involuntarily closed my eyes.
His movements were very gentle, as if he were afraid of disturbing the morning's dream.
I felt his thumb gently caressing my cheek, the delicate touch seeming to carry his emotions, seeping into my heart little by little.
When I opened my eyes again, he was looking at me intently, his eyes filled with affection.
"Good morning," he said softly, his voice deep and magnetic, echoing in the quiet room.
Those two simple words warmed my heart. I smiled and replied, "Good morning."
Almost instinctively, we both sat up at the same time.
I rubbed my sleepy eyes, and he stretched lazily.
At that moment, an indescribable tranquility and harmony filled the air.
I got up and walked towards the washroom, my steps light and leisurely.
As I passed by him, I could feel the warmth emanating from him, and that familiar scent warmed my heart.
He walked towards the wardrobe, his steps steady and natural.
We seem to have an unspoken understanding; without words, a glance or a gesture is enough for us to know each other's thoughts.
In the bathroom, I turned on the tap and watched the clear water splashing in the sink, my thoughts drifting away.
After I finished washing up, I came out of the bathroom and saw him take a clean shirt out of the closet and put it on skillfully.
He lowered his head slightly to adjust his collar, the sunlight shining on his profile and outlining his resolute features.
He seemed to notice my gaze, looked up, and smiled slightly at me.
That smile was like a spring breeze, stirring up ripples in my heart.
He walked towards me, gently took my hand, and said, "Don't just stand there, hurry up and change your clothes."
Then we switched directions; he went to the washroom to wash up, and I took out a robe from the wardrobe, put it on, and tidied myself up.
We walked together to the restaurant, where a sumptuous breakfast was already laid out on the table.
A cup of rich coffee, two slices of golden-brown toast, and a plate of fresh fruit.
We sat facing each other, enjoying breakfast and sharing our plans.
This seemingly ordinary morning became exceptionally beautiful because of this unspoken understanding.
It's like a melodious piece of music, every note pulsating with the deep emotions between us.
"Going out today?" Severus ate the small, slightly burnt piece of bread in his hand, which still had the blueberry jam I had just spread on it for him.
"Yes, I probably have appointments today and tomorrow." I wouldn't hide anything from Severus.
"Have fun." Severus wasn't worried about my safety; he knew neither side would harm me, as long as I was happy.
"Okay, would you like me to bring you a little gift?" I asked Severus with a smile.
"Whatever you like." Severus was indifferent to the gift.
"He can't stay cooped up in the alchemy room all day. Steward Chen, keep an eye on him." He was exhausted yesterday, so he needs a good rest today.
“Yes, young master, I will remind Master Snape.” Butler Chen said respectfully as he poured coffee for me and Severus.
Severus initially wanted to retort, but then he realized that Ayers and Butler Chen were only concerned about him, so he could only silently wipe his hands with the damp towel beside him and continue eating the fruit on his plate.
I just smiled as I watched Severus's little actions, then picked up a damp towel to wipe my hands and drank my coffee.
After we finished breakfast, I was about to go out when Severus prepared to head to the potions room.
As if possessed, I pulled Severus into my arms.
He was clearly caught off guard; his body stiffened slightly, and a hint of astonishment flashed in his usually deep eyes.
"Give me a kiss," I said, mustering my courage. My voice trembled slightly, I couldn't tell if it was from nervousness or excitement.
He stood there, stunned, his eyes filled with bewilderment, as if he were facing a complex potion recipe he had never seen before and didn't know where to begin.
I didn't give him much time to react. While he was still in a daze, I quickly leaned in and gave him a big kiss on the lips.
That soft touch was fleeting, yet it made my heart race, as if it were about to burst out of my chest.
Severus's face flushed instantly, the blush spreading from his fair neck all the way to his ears, the redness as fiery as a magical flame.
He frantically tried to break free from my embrace, waving his hands wildly in the air, but hesitated, and finally just gently pushed me away and took a small step back.
He lowered his head, his long hair obscuring his expression; I could only see his slightly trembling eyelashes.
After a long while, he slowly raised his head, his eyes filled with a mixture of shyness and anger. "Ayers!" His voice was a little hoarse, as if he hadn't spoken in a long time.
Seeing his embarrassed and annoyed expression, I couldn't help but laugh.
"Severus, I just want a kiss~." I said with a smile, reaching out to touch his face.
He dodged my hand, his eyes showing a hint of wariness, but more so a sense of helplessness.
"There are still people here!" he muttered to himself, his hands unconsciously gripping the hem of his robe.
I stepped forward and took his hand again.
“Nobody’s here. Look, they’ve already left.” Just as I was pulling Severus back, the capable butler Chen had already left with his men.
His eyes darted away, but he didn't pull his hand away from mine again.
"You...you shouldn't be so blatant," he said softly, the anger in his voice gone, replaced by a gentle helplessness.
I leaned against him, feeling the warmth of his body. "It's okay, I'll kiss you a few more times next time," I said with a smile.
He didn't speak, but just sighed softly, though I could feel the corners of his mouth turn up slightly.
Finally, I had no choice but to leave, or I would be late.
When I arrived at the Broken Axe Bar, Percy had already been waiting there for a while.
When he saw me arrive, he immediately smiled and looked at me.
That smile was like a flame dancing under the warm yellow lights of a bar, warm and bright.
I quickly walked over and sat down opposite him, saying apologetically, "I'm sorry I'm late."
Percy waved his hand dismissively and said, "It's alright, I just arrived recently too."
As he spoke, he pushed a glass of wine that he had ordered in front of me, saying, "This is the one you like. I asked the bartender to prepare it in advance."
I took the glass, took a small sip, and the familiar taste spread across my taste buds.
Soothing jazz music played in the bar, and people around them chatted quietly, creating a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere.
Percy leaned forward slightly, resting his elbows on the table, and said with interest, "How was your holiday? Did you miss me?"
Percy has one side when he's with me, and another side when he's with people he knows.
I put down my glass and sighed. "Didn't I already express how much I missed you in my letters? Didn't Percy see them?"
Percy listened attentively and nodded to show that he understood.
“But I want to hear you say you miss me,” Percy whispered in my ear.
"Mmm~ I miss you so much~" I really like Percy's style. He likes to hear it, and I will definitely make him happy.
“Come on, I’ve booked a room here. We should have a lot to talk about.” Percy was already happy to hear me say that I missed him and immediately pulled me towards the room.
“The residents here are a mixed bunch. I’ll take you somewhere.” I led Percy Apparition away from the Broken Axe Bar.
I took Percy to the house near the old Black mansion.
As soon as he stepped inside, Percy was like a curious child, his eyes sparkling with excitement, eagerly exploring every corner.
He paused in the living room, his gaze lingering on the somewhat old but still exquisite furniture.
He gently ran his fingers over the carved chair back, letting out a soft murmur of admiration.
"Is this also one of your residences, Ayers?" he asked, slowly pacing around the living room, carefully observing every detail.
Then, he went to the window, drew back the heavy curtains, and let the sunlight stream into the room.
The view outside the window came into his view. He saw the eerie old Blake mansion not far away and couldn't help but shiver, but he was soon attracted by the unique scenery.
"How come this place is so close to Black's old house?" Percy asked curiously.
Percy then headed toward the stairs, his steps light and hurried.
He ran up the stairs to the second floor, taking two steps at a time, and moved through the various rooms.
Upon entering each room, he would first look around and then begin to carefully examine the items inside.
Percy walked into my bedroom, to the familiar blue decor and the enormous bed.
After touring the bedroom, he went to the study.
The bookshelves were filled with all kinds of books, some of which had worn-out covers.
Percy excitedly walked to the bookshelf and began flipping through the books one by one.
“There must be a lot of valuable knowledge in this.” He picked up an old-looking book as if he had found a treasure, sat down in a chair, and began to read it seriously.
"Are you just going to leave me here wandering around like this?" I walked into the study with some flower tea I had brewed and some pastries.
“I was just curious. I really didn’t expect you to have a residence near the Black family home.” Percy took the teacup I handed him.
"Hmm, these are the things I prepared before. You just wanted to stay together on our date today? Don't you want to go out and have some fun?" I placed the pastries and tea I was carrying on the table.
“I’m constantly shuttling between the Ministry of Magic and the Order of the Phoenix these days. I took the day off to meet you today. I’m already very content just being able to spend time with you,” Percy said, stroking the rim of his teacup and smiling at me.
After hearing what Percy said, I felt a warmth in my heart.
Those words, like the warm sun in winter, gently dispelled the gloom hidden in my heart.
His voice was deep and gentle, each word seemingly possessing a magical quality, penetrating straight into my heart.
I, who was originally sitting opposite him, involuntarily stood up, my feet as if pulled by invisible threads, and slowly walked to sit down next to him.
At this moment, we are closer than ever, close enough to hear each other's breathing clearly.
I turned my head and our eyes met.
His eyes were like a deep lake, calm yet containing endless affection, an affection that seemed to drown me.
I slowly raised my hand and gently wrapped it around his waist.
His body stiffened slightly, then relaxed, and as if responding to my embrace, he leaned gently towards me.
I could feel the temperature of his body; the heat passed through his clothes and warmed my heart.
I held him tightly, as if that would keep him by my side forever.
My hand moved up his back and finally rested on his cheek.
His skin was delicate and smooth, with a faint warmth.
I gently stroked his cheek with my fingers, feeling the soft touch.
He closed his eyes slightly, his long eyelashes fluttering gently like butterfly wings.
I slowly moved closer to him and gently pressed my lips to his.
For a moment, time seemed to stand still.
His lips were soft and warm, with a faint sweetness. I opened my mouth slightly, pressing my lips even closer to his, our breaths mingling, and our heartbeats gradually synchronized.
His hands slowly rose and wrapped around my neck, pulling me closer.
This kiss was like a silent conversation, expressing the emotions between us that words could not convey.
We were lost in the kiss, as if the whole world had shrunk down to just the two of us.
That warm feeling, like a gentle stream, flowed through our hearts, making us even more determined in our feelings for each other.
