Chu Xing remained expressionless.
His will was like an iceberg floating on a sea of lava, calmly controlling everything. Pain was merely data, and emotions were just noise.
I do not know how long it has been.
When the last trace of impurity belonging to Ego was completely removed, the golden divine power and the purest life blueprint of the Celestials finally merged together.
They are no longer two different things, but a completely new, stable structure that emits a faint golden light.
Each cell is like a miniature galaxy, self-sustaining and indestructible.
He forged a law unique to him—the Law of Body.
This was not something he gleaned from the outside world, but something he created from within himself. It was the ship that carried him across the sea of laws, and the anchor that anchored all his power.
The preparation is complete.
Chu Hang took a deep breath, his spirit and will detached from this brand-new body, and stepped forward, entering that realm that only existed in concepts.
Closest to him was a deep blue ocean, calm as a mirror—the Sea of Spatial Laws.
Chu Hang's will materialized into human form and stepped directly onto the path. The seawater beneath his feet automatically solidified into a solid road. He walked effortlessly and comfortably to the other side as if on flat ground.
His understanding of space, which originated from the Cosmic Cube, is already highly refined.
Beyond the other shore lies another crimson ocean.
Violent, chaotic, and filled with the aura of destruction. Every wave was an explosion of a star.
Chu Hang frowned, feeling the ocean's blatant rejection of him.
He did not back down. The newly forged "Law of the Body" transformed into a set of close-fitting golden armor, enveloping his spirit and will. Like a diver wearing the heaviest diving suit, he took a deep breath and plunged in.
The violent power instantly overwhelmed him.
His spiritual body was torn apart with countless cracks in the first second. But he gritted his teeth and, in the most clumsy yet direct way, withstood the pressure that was enough to crush a seed and pushed forward.
Like a mortal climbing against a gamma-ray storm to reach the event horizon of a black hole.
His will was repeatedly crushed and repeatedly rebuilt. With each step forward, his understanding of force deepened.
When he finally broke free from the crimson ocean, exhausted, and stepped onto the opposite shore, his spiritual body was riddled with holes, and his golden armor was dull and cracked.
He looked up.
Ahead, there are two more, even deeper oceans.
It was all green, eerily still, as if time itself had frozen.
The Law of Time. Just looking at it made Chu Hang feel his thoughts jumping wildly between the past, present, and future, almost to the point of mental breakdown.
The other was golden, as heavy as the earth. It was the Law of Body he had just forged. He had created it, but was far from being able to control it.
Chu Hang fell silent.
He knew he couldn't make it. He didn't even have the courage to step into one of the seas with his remaining mental strength.
He muttered to himself, decisively retreated, and his will withdrew from the sea of laws.
This attempt to break through failed.
Chu Hang's will returned to his body. He opened his eyes and exhaled a long breath.
That breath of stale air condensed into a gray, lifeless crystal in the pure white space, before shattering into powder.
Although it failed, it was not a complete loss.
His understanding of the laws of space and power reached a whole new level. The various forces within his body were no longer independent warlords, but were governed by these two laws, becoming more condensed.
He's stuck at a bottleneck.
He was just one step away from pushing open that door and becoming a true Godfather. But that one step was as heavy as Mount Tai.
"How long has it been?"
He stood up. In the mirror dimension, the sense of time is blurred.
He casually opened a portal and walked out.
The base was exactly the same as when he left, spotless.
But the sandalwood scent in the air was even stronger.
Moreover, it's right outside the door.
Chu Hang walked to the door and, without pausing, directly pulled open the heavy alloy door.
A man was standing outside the door.
He wore a faded blue monk's robe, draped in a red floating cloak that seemed to have its own life, and with the ancient-looking Eye of Agamotto hanging on his chest.
The man's face was etched with fatigue; his eyes were sunken, and he was unshaven. But the hands that once belonged to a top surgeon were now firmly tucked into his sleeves. His eyes were unusually bright, carrying a world-weariness and resolve beyond his years.
Stephen Strange.
Doctor Strange in the future.
"You are... Anthony Chen?" Strange looked at Chu Hang, his tone uncertain. He knew the name from the information left by the Ancient One, but he didn't expect the real person to be so young.
Chu Hang didn't answer, but looked him up and down, his gaze lingering on the green time gem for a moment.
"Newly appointed Sorcerer Supreme, it seems your first day didn't go very smoothly." Chu Hang's tone was very calm, as if he were commenting on the weather. "I can smell the lingering energy left behind by the Ancient One when she disappeared from you."
Strange's pupils contracted sharply, and his body tensed instantly.
Chapter 122 Lord of the Dark Dimension
Strange's eyes dimmed, like extinguished embers. But only a second later, the embers reignited, shining brightly.
“The Ancient One passed on her title and the Eye of Agamotto to me.” His voice was hoarse, as if it had been sanded. “But she also left behind a mess. Her disciple Kaecilius, in his pursuit of so-called immortality, introduced the power of the Dark Dimension to Earth.”
He paused for a moment, as if organizing his thoughts, or perhaps recalling the battle that had left him physically and mentally exhausted.
“Mordo,” Strange said, his voice heavy. “Mordo can’t accept the fact that the Ancient One used dark magic to sustain her life. He believes that magic itself is a desecration of the laws of nature, a sin. Now, he is hunting down sorcerers and taking their power. His next target is the New York Sanctum.”
"So, you want me to clean house for you?" A faint smile appeared on Chu Hang's lips.
“No.” Strange shook his head, looking directly into Chu Hang’s eyes. There was no fear in those eyes, only a surgeon’s calm and resolute determination. “The Ancient One said that Mordo is my test, and I must solve it myself. But she also said that if Dormammu breaks his oath and sends a clone over, that’s not something I can handle. She sent me to find you.”
“I owe her a favor,” Chu Hang answered decisively. “Modu is yours. Dormammu is mine.”
Strange's tense shoulders finally relaxed, and he let out a long sigh of relief.
Without further ado, Strange raised his hands, drawing a circle of orange-red fire with his fingertips. The portal rapidly expanded, revealing on the other side the iconic stained-glass window of the New York Sanctuary.
The two stepped in one after the other.
A dense, almost tangible dark energy rushed towards us, carrying the smell of sulfur and decay.
The hall was now a ruin.
Mordo floated in mid-air, a constantly rotating black magic circle beneath his feet, and the Staff of the Tribunal in his hand emitted an ominous dark light.
Opposite him, the chubby mage king was struggling to hold up a magic shield riddled with cracks; each flicker of the shield resembled glass about to shatter.
"Strange! You're finally back!" Mordo saw him, his eyes blazing with a mixture of anger and disappointment. "Back to face judgment? You're just like the Ancient One, a thief who steals power!"
"Mordo, stop." Strange's red levitation cloak flew onto him automatically, and he assumed a fighting stance, with golden mandala arrays appearing in his palms.
Chu Hang had no interest in the ethical drama between the two brothers. As if nothing was wrong, he walked around the two confronting each other, walked to the center of the hall, and looked up at the ceiling, which had been eroded by dark energy and resembled an abstract painting.
"Stop hiding, I can smell your rotten stench even across a dimension."
As soon as the words were spoken, the space above the temple began to distort violently, like a piece of black cloth burned through by a cigarette butt. An enormous head, beyond description, slowly emerged from the crack.
The head seemed to be composed of countless purple nebulae and billions of wailing faces. It had no physical form, yet it exuded a terrifying pressure that could crush one's mind.
Dormammu's clone.
As soon as it appeared, the physical laws of the entire temple began to collapse. Solid walls melted and dripped like wax, sharp black crystalline spikes sprouted from the marble floor, and the air was filled with nauseating whispers.
"Mortal...you carry the scent of time, and...the repulsive energy of the Ancient One." Dormammu's voice didn't travel through the air, but resounded directly in Chu Hang's mind, like billions of souls screaming simultaneously, "You think you can stop me?"
"You'll know if you try it."
Before Chu Hang could finish speaking, he had already vanished from the spot.
The next second, he appeared above Dormammu's clone and delivered a straightforward, powerful punch. Crimson laws of force and azure laws of space intertwined wildly on his fist, forming a visible spiral of energy.
Simple, brutal, and unreasonable.
A muffled thud. Dormammu's massive head was struck and sank downwards, the nebula that made up his face churning violently, but it was not substantially damaged.
Countless dark energy tentacles shot out from its face, like thousands of venomous snakes ready to devour their prey, blocking all of Chu Hang's escape routes.
The space around Chu Hang instantly distorted into an irregular convex lens. The energy tentacles, powerful enough to tear apart tanks, were deflected and refracted as soon as they approached, shooting wildly in all directions and smashing countless bottomless craters into the temple walls.
"That's interesting." Chu Hang smiled.
This clone's power firmly stood at the threshold of the Celestial level. Although it was far inferior to Odin's original body, it was stronger than all the opponents he had encountered before.
Perfect, I'll use it as a whetstone.
He held back, fully activating his divine physique, his body transforming into a golden lightning bolt, moving at high speed around Dormammu's clone.
He would occasionally use the laws of space to teleport short distances, appearing in a blind spot of Dormammu's defenses, and unleash a punch, the law of force causing the small area of space to collapse.
At times, it directly confronts Dormammu's dark energy head-on, allowing it to bombard its body. The [Adaptive Armor] flashes with light, rapidly analyzing the energy composition, while the Law of Body transforms the impact into its own power.
The interior of the temple had long been turned into a boiling pot of porridge. Strange and Mordo's battle was forced to move to the Mirror Dimension, leaving the King in a corner, dumbfounded, watching this clash of gods.
"A tiny insect!"
Dormammu was utterly enraged. He opened his massive maw, which was made of nebula, and a purple beam of light, composed entirely of dark dimensional energy, erupted forth, annihilating all matter and even erasing space itself.
Chu Hang did not take the attack head-on. He clasped his hands together, and the space in front of him was pulled open like a curtain, instantly forming a miniature wormhole that swallowed the pillar of destruction.
The next second, the wormhole opened at the back of Dormammu's head, and the beam of light shot out intact, blasting him.
Taking advantage of the brief chaos in Dormammu's energy body, Chu Hang's figure had already pressed close.
[A Celestial-level target 'Dormammu (dimensional clone)' has been detected!]
Chu Hang was startled and instantly understood. He couldn't do it before because he was too weak, like a three-year-old child who couldn't even lift a pistol, let alone disassemble and analyze it.
Now, he is just one step away from reaching the Heavenly Father level; the strength of his body and soul has barely reached that threshold.
