Invisible sound waves radiated outwards from him.
Everything within a five-kilometer radius formed a three-dimensional map in his mind.
He immediately "heard" the Hydra troops below the mountain. Footsteps, tracks, and engines mingled together. The movement was chaotic, clearly lacking command.
Steve Rogers' voice rang directly in his mind.
"Chu Hang, we've attracted a large number of enemies, and they're moving towards the cliff."
"Received." Chu Hang replied weakly, "We're being watched too. We can't move fast with me. The nearest enemy is a kilometer away, and we'll make contact in three minutes."
He added, "There's a small team trying to take a shortcut and block the cliff at your nine o'clock direction. Take them out."
"Okay, be careful!"
In his perception, the team was moving slowly through the snow, making them a very conspicuous target.
The voices representing the enemy are converging from all directions.
The encirclement is tightening.
The nearest squad is less than 800 meters away.
The people around him were still focused on their journey, completely unaware of the impending death.
"If this continues, we'll all be wiped out," Chu Hang thought to himself.
He twisted his ankle, fell forward, and buried his face in the snow.
At the same time, he screamed hoarsely, "Ahead!"
Without a second thought, Failsworth threw himself down, roaring with all his might, "Get down!"
The entire team collapsed to the ground in unison.
As soon as they lay down, several beams of blue energy flew past their scalps.
The beam of light struck a pine tree more than ten meters away, silently melting the thick trunk, leaving a smooth cut and emitting blue smoke.
Everyone's backs were soaked.
Their gazes changed as they looked at Chu Hang struggling in the snow.
"Enemy attack! Nine o'clock, in the woods! Return fire!" Farsworth roared, setting up his machine gun and opening fire into the woods.
Gunshots ripped through the snowy night.
Bullets sent splinters and snow flying everywhere. The enemy's firepower was even more intense; blue beams of light and bullets pressed down on them, preventing them from raising their heads.
The situation is bad. The enemy outnumbers them, has heavy firepower, and occupies the high ground.
"Grenade!" Farsworth shouted.
Several grenades were thrown into the woods, and the flames from the explosions temporarily suppressed the enemy.
Chu Hang leaned against a tree, coughing as he calmly observed the situation.
He mentally counted the heads: fifteen. One officer, two energy machine gunners, and twelve infantrymen. This remnant force wouldn't last five minutes.
He set his sights on Jones, the communications soldier who was on the verge of a breakdown. The guy was hiding behind a small rock, right in front of two energy machine guns.
Chu Hang raised his index finger, pointing it at Jones from afar.
He distorted the space around the rock in front of Jones.
Another energy beam shot out, but before hitting the rock, its trajectory veered off course, grazing the stone as it flew past.
The Hydra machine gunner who fired the shot froze. He swore he had aimed correctly.
"Jones! Big tree on the right! Throw a grenade!" Chu Hang shouted hoarsely.
Terrified, Jones instinctively pulled the pin and threw the last grenade with his eyes closed.
"A newbie," Chu Hang thought to himself, while secretly exerting his strength.
An invisible force pushed the grenade in mid-air, correcting its trajectory.
The grenade exploded right behind the machine gun emplacement, in a blind spot.
The stunned machine gunner was thrown into the air along with his gun.
A gap has appeared in the firepower network.
"Well done, Jones!" Failsworth roared with delight. "Press down the left flank! Charge with me!"
The team members immediately turned their guns around and fired bullets at the machine gun position on the left.
Farsworth pulled Chu Hang up and led the rest of the group toward the breach.
The Hydra officer in the woods panicked and raised his gun, aiming it at Falsworth's back.
Chu Hang's eyes turned cold.
Behind Falsworth, the space rippled like the surface of water.
With a soft "ding," the energy blast was launched and shot into the snowdrift.
The Hydra officer was dumbfounded.
While he was still in a daze, a dark figure darted out from the woods to his side. It was Logan.
Three bone claws slashed through the air, cutting the Hydra officer's body into four pieces.
Then, a figure wielding a star shield appeared. Captain America, Steve Rogers.
With a flick of his wrist, the shield flew out, striking two Hydra soldiers on the head before bouncing back into his hand.
"What a show-off," Chu Hang thought to himself.
"Yes, Captain!" The team members' morale soared.
Big Beard Dugan also appeared, smoking a cigar and firing a submachine gun.
Besieged on all sides, with their commander killed, the remaining Hydra soldiers collapsed and turned to flee.
Logan moved through the woods, and after a few screams, the battle was over.
More than a dozen corpses lay on the snow.
"Take a headcount of the wounded and replenish ammunition!" Steve ordered, quickly helping Chu Hang, who was still coughing.
"How are you?" He looked at Chu Hang's pale face with a complicated expression.
"I won't die..." Chu Hang replied weakly, leaning against the captain's shoulder.
Steve hesitated, wanting to speak but stopping himself. Jones's grenade, the ricocheting bullet behind Falsworth... he knew Chu Hang's abilities went beyond just perception.
“We need to hurry.” Logan walked over, frowning. “The smell of blood is too strong. I can smell dogs, a lot of them.”
No sooner had he finished speaking than a cacophony of barking dogs erupted from the foot of the mountain.
The sound grew louder and louder as it approached. The roar of the truck engine and shouts in German also grew closer.
The Hydra army has arrived.
Without further hesitation, Steve hoisted Chu Hang and raced toward the cliff.
Five minutes later, they rushed out of the woods and arrived at the edge of the cliff.
Before them lay a sheer cliff, its bottom unseen.
From the woods behind us, countless beams of flashlight shone, and the sounds of barking and shouting reached us.
Ahead lay a dead end, behind were pursuers.
“God…” Jones looked at the cliff, his legs went weak, and he collapsed on the snow.
Hearing the desperate murmurs of his teammates, Chu Hang, supported by Steve, smiled.
"Are we doomed?"
"This means the escort mission is complete and we are preparing to teleport."
Chapter 50 A Way Out of the Cliff
"Dead……"
The communications soldier Jones's sobs trembled.
Ahead lies a bottomless abyss; a fall would leave no trace of your bones. Behind you are Hydra's pursuers and hounds; being caught would be worse than death.
"Dum-Dum Bullet" Dugan gripped his submachine gun, the cigar in his mouth having fallen out at some point.
Logan's reaction was more direct.
A low growl escaped his throat, and three bone claws shot out with a "whoosh." He hunched over, his eyes fixed on the light in the woods. Surrender? He didn't know; he only knew to fight to the death.
Steve gripped his shield tightly, the edge digging into his leather gloves. He could hold off a division, but he couldn't lead his brothers out of this dead end.
"Prepare for battle!" he shouted hoarsely. "Even if we die, we'll let Hydra know who we are!"
Chu Hang, a member of the group, slipped and fell towards the cliff.
Steve reached out to grab it, but it was too late.
Chu Hang tripped at the edge of the cliff, and the M1 rifle in his hand flew out of his hand and fell into the darkness.
"My gun!" he screamed as he lunged to the edge of the cliff and looked down.
"You're crazy! Come back!" Explosives expert Farsworth grabbed him by the back of his collar.
Chu Hang suddenly shouted, his voice filled with both surprise and ecstasy.
"Look down! Look down!" he pointed to the abyss. "There's a platform! I see it!"
On a snowy night, it's pitch black below. What can you see?
But the will to survive drove everyone to the edge of the cliff. Steve was the first to peer out, but he couldn't see anything.
“You’re mistaken, there’s nothing there!” Dugan’s tone was full of disappointment.
"Yes! There really is!" Chu Hang exclaimed anxiously. "About fifty meters down there's a protruding rock, big enough for us to stand on! And there seems to be a cave to the left!"
His description was exceptionally clear.
Of course, he didn't see with his eyes.
