Chapter 138 Selection Site
Chapter 138 Selection Site
For those ambitious young wizards, the weekend came too quickly. They hadn't even finished reviewing all their Transfiguration notes since the start of the semester when Thea's Transfiguration Notes Compilation and Selection Process began.
"Everyone, please be quiet!"
Facing countless sparkling eyes and overwhelming cheers from below the stage, Thea reluctantly used a sound amplification spell in an attempt to calm the excited young wizards down.
“It’s a pleasure to see you all on this special day!” Thea said. “I’m also glad that there are not only members of the study group here, but also other young wizards who haven’t joined the group. I warmly welcome you all!”
Applause broke out from the audience at the right time, but it gradually subsided before Thea was about to speak.
"Actually, many people didn't understand when I made this decision. They didn't understand why I would give up this shining gem so easily."
The audience gradually quieted down; no one spoke in hushed tones, and they all stared intently at the girl on stage who seemed to be radiating light.
"Indeed, as long as I organize and share these things, I believe that my name will definitely be included in future textbooks on the history of magic."
"But! I am not satisfied with this!"
Thea's voice suddenly rose in pitch.
"I don't want to see these materials displayed high in expensive shop windows, only to end up as something for others to show off!"
"I don't want to see the library books gathering dust in that classroom forever!"
"Therefore! I've decided to involve the students!"
"After all, this is not my personal wealth; it should belong to the entire Hogwarts!"
Upon hearing this, most of the young wizards' eyes reddened slightly, not for any other reason than shame for their despicable guesses an hour earlier.
They thought this was another Slytherin trick...
They thought it was just a trick by Blake to win people over...
Thea on the stage continued her impassioned speech.
Merlin is dead, but he will live on in our hearts forever.
"The four great masters are dead, but they left behind the dazzling jewel of Hogwarts!"
"No one can escape death, and all we can do is to etch our names into the history of magic forever!"
"And compiling our transfiguration data is the first step in making our mark on history!"
As soon as Thea finished speaking, a long and enthusiastic round of applause erupted from the audience, without a single word being spoken.
"Now, I will select the most suitable person from among you to organize the data,"
Countless young wizards secretly puffed out their chests, believing that he/she was the most suitable candidate.
"Before announcing the selection requirements, I need to confirm once again whether everyone standing here is here to participate in the selection?"
"If not, you can go into the classroom on my right. A delicious afternoon tea is ready and waiting for you there."
Thea watched the young wizards whispering among themselves for a while, and in the end, no one left the classroom.
"Very good!" Thea clapped enthusiastically.
"Now, I need to select two types of young wizards. The first type is young wizards who are open-minded, imaginative, and have a good grasp of Transfiguration. Those who feel they meet the requirements can go to Miss Phoenix Greengrass to receive a red number tag."
The second type is: young wizards with broad knowledge, not limited to the subject of Transfiguration. These young wizards can obtain a white number tag from Miss Pansy Parkinson.
When Thea finished speaking, many of the young wizards were dumbfounded.
They didn't understand why Thea would make such a request, but seeing Thea suddenly become serious on the stage, no one dared to push her luck and object to her request, after all, she had voluntarily shared her Transfiguration notes and papers.
The young wizards couldn't bear the thought of eating with their bowls up and then cursing after putting them down.
Thea looked at the young wizards below the stage, who dared not speak out in anger, and felt very satisfied.
It seems that the authority she deliberately established since entering the school has been effective; at least now no brain-dead little wizards will dare to question the selection criteria she set.
"There are five minutes left until the deadline. Young wizards who haven't chosen a number yet, please hurry up."
The young wizard who was still hesitating in the audience suddenly realized what was happening, made a decision immediately, and pinned the number plate to his chest.
“Very well, now, the wizards with red number tags, please stay here. The wizards with white number tags, please go with Mr. Draco Malfoy to the classroom on my left.”
What is Thea trying to do?
It's very simple; there's no faster way to select talent than through examinations.
Thea simply didn't have time to analyze each of their strengths, so she stayed up several nights in a row to prepare several tests and questions for these young wizards.
The test is for the young wizards with white number tags. The questions include, but are not limited to, Transfiguration, Defense Against the Dark Arts, Alchemy, and even a small amount of knowledge about magical creatures. Completing this test will be enough for Thea to choose a suitable candidate.
As for why Thea created such a wide-ranging test?
Ha, before looking through the Transfiguration materials provided by Dumbledore, she never imagined that his notes would cover these subjects!
As for the more challenging questions, those were prepared by Thea for the young wizards with exceptionally open minds.
Thea mainly intended to use these young wizards to organize the somewhat difficult-to-read papers given by Dumbledore.
After all, if it weren't for those with a more open mind, Thea suspected that even the young wizards might not be able to keep up with the line of thought presented in the paper.
As for the topic, Thea shamelessly chose a topic from Dumbledore's essays and then asked these young wizards to briefly explain their thinking based on their knowledge.
And so, ninety percent of the young wizards, whether holding white or red number plates, failed these questions.
The remaining 10% are either academically gifted little wizards with broad knowledge or little wizards with such open-mindedness that Thea exclaimed "666!"
Finally, after being tormented by test papers and essay topics, the little wizard managed to escape the sea of questions before dinner time.
They all shared a common trait: an aura of helplessness and resentment emanating from their bodies, a result of being brutally beaten.
