Chapter 142 The Truth
Chapter 142 The Truth
“Potter, I swear, attacking the professor will be the reason you get expelled.”
Draco's tension immediately turned into excitement when he witnessed Potter and the others committing their "crime".
Even though Draco was so excited, he didn't forget Thea's earlier instructions and pointed his wand at the other wizards standing in the room.
Harry, Gellar, and the others were startled by the appearance of Thea and the others, who pointed their wands at them. They stood frozen in place.
"Theodore, go help the professor up! And while you're at it, check if he has any wolfsbane in his pocket."
"Thea..."
Sirius tried hard to identify the girl standing in front of everyone.
Hello, Uncle!
Thea greeted Sirius in a cheerful voice, then turned apologetically to all the wizards whose wands were pointed at,
"I apologize for greeting you all in such an impolite manner, but for everyone's safety, I think you all need to calm down..."
"These are sobering drugs, and I think you really need them in your current state."
The group took the potion from Thea's hand, considered it for a moment, and then drank it.
"Very good!" Thea snapped her fingers with her free hand. "Uncle! Is there anything I can help you with?"
"Rat! Catch that rat!"
Sirius eagerly pointed to the mouse that was now eerily quiet in Ron's arms.
"Then, as you wish!"
"Banban is flying in!"
Thea tore a button off her clothes and turned it into a cage; she didn't want to make direct contact with the other person.
"Thea!"
Theodore's voice came from a corner of the room. Thea turned her head to look, and Theodore struggled to help the unconscious professor "float" over.
"How about it?"
Thea conjured up a chair and placed the professor on it.
"The situation is a bit bad; at least I can't wake the professor up."
Theodore shook his head, his face full of helplessness.
"By the way, this is the wolfsbane medicine in the professor's pocket. I smelled it, and it should still be usable."
Thea took the medicine bottle and turned to Professor Lu Ping, whose face was pale. "Professor Lu Ping, did you take your medicine today?"
"……No."
Thea's expression didn't change much. She handed the medicine bottle to the other person and urged them to drink it with her eyes.
Will drinking the wolfsbane potion turn me into a wolf?
Lupin forced back the bitter taste of the potion lingering in his mouth. "Yes, but I will retain my sanity."
"That's good!" Thea finally felt relieved. "By the way, we think we interrupted something. Do you still want to continue?"
Harry, having recovered from his shock, finally couldn't resist the urge to know the truth. He nodded to Thea, hoping to learn the truth about his parents' deaths from Sirius.
"Because of my stupidity... at a crucial moment I suggested that James replace the Secret Service with that rat! I thought..."
Sirius's face was a mixture of anger and regret, which made his already poor image even worse.
"After the news came, I immediately knew who the real traitor was... I gave chase... but that rat paid the price with a finger... He killed thirteen Muggles... I went to Azkaban..."
Daphne and the others were almost speechless at the truth revealed by Sirius.
The group exchanged glances and instantly understood why Thea had issued this task.
Upon hearing this, Harry's chest heaved violently. He couldn't speak, and could only stare with hatred at the trembling mouse curled up in the corner of the cage.
"...So, do I need to release him?"
"Of course!"
Harry and Sirius spoke in unison.
"Clap!"
As soon as the cage was opened, the mouse, which had been half-dead, immediately became energetic and ran to one side of the room.
"Snapped!"
"Snapped!"
"Snapped!"
The first few spells missed their mark on the floor.
"Oh!"
Just as the mouse was about to escape through a large hole, a spell caused its body to swell rapidly, eventually transforming it into a short, fat, bald man in old clothes.
Ron couldn't help but gag.
Thea handed the other person a lemon candy at the right moment.
Seeing that Hermione's expression wasn't too good either, Thea shared the rest of the candy with her as well.
"I'm sorry—Harry—I had no choice, it was that person! That person threatened me!"
Even though Sirius and Lupin were holding him back tightly, Peter still managed to unleash an astonishing amount of strength to get closer to Harry.
"Help me—Ron...I'm your pet!"
Peter was met with a gag from Ron.
"I think he might need a bottle of truth serum..."
Thea looked at the scene with disgust, and Theodore handed her another bottle of medicine at the right moment.
"Just found in Professor Snape's pocket."
Theodore looked completely unfazed.
"Good job!"
Thea praised him, and a beautiful blush instantly spread across Theodore's fair face.
Thea walked toward Peter without looking to either side, while the two men behind her cooperated by holding him down so that Thea could successfully swallow the medicine.
Peter's eyes widened in disbelief, as if he couldn't understand how this beautiful little wizard could treat him so cruelly.
"Cough, cough, cough!"
As soon as the medicine went down his throat, Peter let out a series of earth-shattering coughs.
Facing the stares of the crowd, Thea said matter-of-factly, "My hand trembled a little, is that a problem?"
Everyone immediately shook their heads, because they would have done the same in their situation.
"Tell me, was it you who informed on them to that person, leading to the Potters' deaths?"
Seeing that no one else spoke, Thea naturally took over the interrogation.
"Yes... but I was forced into it!!"
Peter endured the effects of the drug, trying his best to maintain an innocent expression.
"Tell me, when did you pledge allegiance to that person?"
"...1980—No!"
Peter stated the fact with ease.
"Why did you turn into a rat and stay in the Weasley house after that bombing?"
"In order to get news of the master as quickly as possible..."
Peter looked utterly dejected.
"I've finished asking, you..."
Harry's face was pale and grotesque. If Hermione and Ron hadn't been supporting him, he might have collapsed to the ground in the next second, or the fire in his eyes might have made him rush over and swiftly fire a Killing Curse at Peter.
"…there is none left…"
Harry said with difficulty.
Draco looked at Harry's disheveled appearance and, unusually, refrained from making sarcastic remarks.
"Then we need to go back to the castle!" Thea's suggestion was agreed upon by everyone.
“Professor Lupin, you may need to stay here for the night…”
"Of course!"
Lupin tried his best to maintain a smile.
"Perhaps I should inform Minister Fouché?"
Thea cautiously suggested to Sirius, who looked dazed.
Sirius looked at the expectation on the girl's face, paused for a moment, and then said, "...Of course!"
"Alright! I remember the minister came to Hogwarts this morning, hopefully he hasn't left yet..."
"Draco, contact Pansy and have her inform Professor McGonagall and Professor Dumbledore."
"Daphne, inform Zabini and tell him to be ready for backup. I have a feeling this isn't over yet..."
Everyone's hearts immediately jumped into their throats; Thea was definitely not the kind of person who spoke without reason.
The group quickly and methodically made their way through the dark secret passage.
Thea led the way and was in charge of guarding the area.
In the middle are Harry and Sirius holding Peter, while behind them are Theodore and Gellar using a levitation charm to make the unconscious Professor Snape float up mysteriously.
Finally, Hermione and Ron came in last. Ron had injured his leg, and Theodore didn't have enough white powder. Although they received basic treatment, the wound didn't heal completely immediately.
