Chapter 170 Team Duel
Chapter 170 Team Duel
After greeting Hagrid, Thea led a group of people to the place where they had taken their Magical Creatures class, the same place where they met Buckbeak.
As dusk approached, nearly a hundred torches had already been lit along the edge of the field, illuminating the entire area as bright as day. A dozen or so buzzing creatures hovered above everyone's heads.
"These are Draco's newly developed flying video recorders. If you are interested, you can pay for them here. The price is 20 Galleons now, and it will increase to 30 Galleons in seven days!"
Thea started with an advertisement before officially getting to tonight's topic!
"Since it's a team event, our playing field is the area surrounded by red paint. Once you're out of the field, you lose. But if you have one person left, and I've already qualified, then you still win!"
After a brief explanation of the rules, the five-on-one duel officially began!
From the very beginning, Thea cast several Iron Armor Spells on herself!
After taking protective measures, Thea aimed at her target and then pushed her way through!
Since the five of them lacked experience in teamwork and were afraid of hurting their teammates, coupled with Thea's fearless attitude, Thea won in terms of fighting spirit alone!
After Thea successfully took down the one who was clearly the leader, the entire team immediately fell into an awkward situation of being leaderless. Thea seized the opportunity and sent them out of bounds one by one!
"I want to teach you a lesson through this duel!"
"Those who have nothing to lose are not afraid of those who have something to lose!"
"When you're afraid of getting hurt, you've already lost!"
Thea stood in the center of everyone's attention; at that moment, no one could take their eyes off her!
Immediately afterwards, Thea started a second duel!
Compared to the previous team's timidity, this team is quite good!
Each of them could fight alone, but together...
"None of them would submit to the others; they all wanted to be the ones to knock Thea out of bounds."
Gella commented calmly.
Faced with this small team, Thea opted for a different tactic.
She didn't use many powerful spells, but instead used polymorphism to harass and provoke the other party's anger, right at the moment when their blood was boiling!
Thea used a powerful fire spell to send them all out of the arena!
Next, Thea participated in several more group duels, and without exception, she found her opponent's weakness and then attacked it to win.
"Next team!"
Thea stood on the field urging them for a long time, but in the end, the conclusion was that they had given up their registration.
"Oh……"
Seeing the Great Demon King's extremely dissatisfied expression, the young wizards below the stage trembled with fear.
"Alright, that's enough for tonight's team duel. Now, find your opponents and the duels will begin in five minutes!"
Seeing that the Great Demon King was about to rest, the little wizards breathed a sigh of relief.
"How are things going with Draco and the others? Is everything going smoothly?"
He messaged me ten minutes ago saying everything was going well.
"That's good!" Thea tilted her head back and drank the potion in her hand. When she felt that her hand was no longer trembling, she walked into the crowd again with renewed energy.
Not long after, Thea's voice rang out again, correcting the young wizards.
As the moon climbed higher in the sky, the dueling session came to an end.
"Potter? Aren't you leaving yet?" Thea asked Harry, who was dawdling behind them, with a hint of doubt.
"Um...you guys go first, I need to talk to Hagrid about something."
Thea didn't mind, but reminded the other person to be careful before walking towards the castle with Daphne and the others.
"Hagrid, what do you need me for?" Harry sneaked away from the crowd and knocked on the door of Hagrid's hut.
“Let me show you something,” Hagrid said.
Harry then noticed that Hagrid was very excited; there was a flower stuck in the buttonhole of his clothes, and he no longer applied hair oil to his hair, but he must have spent a lot of time combing it.
"What exactly are you going to show me?" Harry asked warily.
“Come with me, don’t make a sound, cover yourself with the Invisibility Cloak,” Hagrid said. “We’re not taking Tooth with us, he won’t like it…”
After the two left the hut, Harry was surprised to find that Hagrid did not head directly towards the Forbidden Forest, but instead walked towards Madam Maxim's carriage.
"Hagrid, how could you..."
"Shh—" Hagrid lowered his head and gestured for Harry to be quiet, then carefully knocked on the carriage door.
Ms. Maxim quickly opened the door and smiled slightly, saying, "Hagrid? Is it time?"
“It’s time,” Hagrid said with a smile, extending a hand to help her down the steps.
Maxim turned around and closed the carriage door, and then the two headed together into the Forbidden Forest.
The two were walking very long strides, and Harry had to jog to keep up.
As Harry ran, he heard a noise…
It sounded like several men were shouting loudly in front of me, followed by several such huge roars.
In that brief moment when he looked up, Harry's mouth dropped open in astonishment.
Fire Dragon!
Four ferocious-looking adult fire dragons were confined within a thick wooden palisade, standing upright on their hind legs, roaring as long flames spewed from their open, fanged mouths, shooting straight into the dark night sky.
"What kinds of creatures do you have here?" Hagrid asked Charlie, gazing at the black fire dragon closest to him with an almost reverent expression.
“There’s a Hungarian tree peak,” Charlie said. “The smaller one over there is a common Welsh green dragon—that silver-blue one is an Indian short-nosed dragon, and that red one is a Chinese fireball.”
Hearing this, Harry understood that these four fire dragons were probably the first test for their warriors.
He quietly turned around and began his return to the castle, where Sirius was still waiting for him.
Halfway there, Harry bumped into something hard without warning. When he looked up and saw what it was, he recognized it as Durmstrang's headmaster, Karkaroff.
He knew exactly what Karkaroff was there to do, so Cedric was the only one among all the warriors who didn't know the details of the project.
Back in the Gryffindor common room, Harry learned from Sirius Black that Karkaroff had once been a Death Eater, which made Harry even more wary.
Just as Sirius was about to reveal his method for dealing with the fire dragon, Ron's sudden appearance interrupted Sirius's next words.
Reason told Harry he shouldn't take his anger out on Ron, since Ron didn't know the truth either, but Harry, in a fit of rage, ran upstairs in one breath.
He lay in bed with his eyes open, fuming, for a long time, but didn't hear Ron come up to sleep.
