Chapter 68 Planet Moai
Chapter 68 Planet Moai
Sun Wukong took a deep breath, adjusting his breathing, preparing for the perilous journey back to Earth. His heart was filled with anticipation for the impending, breathtaking battle, yet also tinged with tension and unease. He knew the Saiyans were no ordinary beings; they were a distant and powerful alien race, possessing terrifying strength and a cruel nature. But for Earth, for his friends who had shared life and death with him, he had no choice but to forge ahead, even if it meant facing mountains of knives and seas of fire, a path of thorns and death from which there was no return. He would charge forward without hesitation, using his blood and life to defend the peace and tranquility of Earth.
Meanwhile, on Earth, Master Roshi quietly watched as Shenron gradually disappeared into the clouds, and the Dragon Balls returned to their ordinary stone form. He silently prayed, "Goku, it's all up to you now. May fate be on your side, and may you overcome all your enemies and return safely."
……
On the other hand, are Saiyans really as brutal and evil as the legends portray them? And could Vegeta and Nappa, those two Saiyans, really have stayed in that small spaceship for a year? The answer is clearly no. What exactly did they experience before they arrived on Earth?
Not long ago, in the vast depths of space, Vegeta and Nappa, two Saiyan warriors, were traveling in a spaceship towards distant Earth. The Saiyan race is renowned throughout the universe for its powerful fighting instincts and insatiable thirst for battle. Vegeta, the Saiyan prince, harbors a strong ambition to become the strongest warrior in the universe; Nappa is his loyal follower, a burly man of immense strength, always obedient to Vegeta.
Their spaceship traversed the interstellar space like a shooting star streaking across the dark cosmos. During their long voyage, resupplying became essential. One day, the spaceship's detection system discovered a mysterious planet. The data suggested that this planet might possess something valuable—perhaps an energy source, or perhaps precious resources. For the Saiyans, any unknown planet could be a treasure trove for power and wealth.
The spaceship slowly landed on the planet. The hatch opened, and Vegeta and Nappa stepped out, immediately stunned by the sight before them. The expected bustling scene was nowhere to be seen; instead, there was only desolate silence. Cities that might have once existed were now ruins, rubble and debris everywhere. The earth was riddled with massive cracks, as if torn apart by some powerful force. Thick smoke filled the air, its acrid odor making it difficult to breathe, and the sky was a strange, dark red, as if stained with blood.
“What exactly happened?” Naba frowned and said in a muffled voice, “It looks like we’ve been through a terrible war.”
Vegeta's eyes were cold as he warily scanned his surroundings. He said, "No matter what, let's look around first. Maybe we can find something useful."
Just as they were preparing to begin their search, two insect-like beings suddenly sprang out of the ruins. These two insect-like beings had a peculiar appearance, their bodies covered with hard exoskeletons, their slender antennae constantly twitching, and their compound eyes flashing with an eerie light.
The insect-man A chuckled and said, "Look at these two fellows, all covered in dust and dirt. Are they here to beg?"
Insect Man B chimed in, "Haha, probably a pathetic creature that couldn't survive in space."
Vegeta's face darkened, and he roared, "You two inferior creatures, how dare you speak to me like that!" He then prepared to attack.
The insectoids, however, showed no fear. They quickly assumed their fighting stances and launched a simultaneous attack on Vegeta and Nappa. Insectoid A wielded its sharp forelimbs like blades, slicing through the air and aiming straight for Vegeta's throat; Insectoid B, on the other hand, sprayed a corrosive liquid from its back towards Nappa.
Vegeta dodged Insect Man A's attack with a swift movement, then delivered a flying kick to Insect Man A's abdomen. Insect Man A was sent flying, crashing heavily into a boulder, sending debris flying. Nappa opened his mouth wide and roared, the sound waves acting as a powerful force, dispersing the corrosive liquid sprayed by Insect Man B. Then, he strode forward, grabbed Insect Man B, and squeezed him hard, causing Insect Man B to let out a painful scream.
However, these two insect-men, though seemingly weak, possessed remarkable resilience. Insect-man A rose from the ground and continued charging towards Vegeta, shouting, "Don't be so smug! You'll see what's what when you meet King Moai!"
Vegeta and Nappa exchanged a glance, a surge of curiosity rising within them. Vegeta wondered: Just who is this King Moai? How can he make these two underlings so fearless?
So Vegeta decided to change tactics. He signaled Nappa to stop, and then said to the insect-man, "Hmph, let's see what this King Moai is capable of. Take us to see him."
Insect-Man A and Insect-Man B exchanged a glance, a hint of smugness in their eyes. They escorted Vegeta and Nappa deeper into the planet.
Along the way, Vegeta and Nappa kept a close eye on their surroundings. They discovered that the planet was littered with signs of battle; the skeletons of enormous creatures lay scattered along the roadside, some bearing deep wounds that seemed to tell tales of past, brutal battles.
“This planet must have been very prosperous before. I wonder why it has become like this,” Naba said softly.
Vegeta remained silent, his gaze fixed ahead as he pondered various possibilities.
Finally, they arrived before a colossal castle. The castle soared into the clouds, its architecture eerie and terrifying, its walls covered with strange symbols and patterns. The castle gates slowly opened, and a powerful aura swept over them.
King Moai was enormous and bizarre in appearance. His body seemed to be made of a mixture of rock and metal, incredibly hard. His head was like a huge tumor, covered with eyes that gleamed with a chilling light. His limbs were thick and powerful, and the ground trembled with every step he took.
King Moai said in a deep voice, "These are the outsiders you're talking about? They don't seem particularly special."
Vegeta scoffed, "You're the leader of this wretched place? All show and no substance."
King Moai roared, "How dare you! What do you want by coming to my territory?"
Vegeta replied, "We were just passing by, but we were provoked by your two foolish subordinates. Let's see what you're capable of."
Naba shouted from the side, "Your Majesty? I think it's a big monster. You'll be sorry!"
King Moai laughed loudly: "Ignorant fools, you won't leave here alive today."
After saying that, King Moai waved his hand, and a group of his subordinates poured out of the castle, surrounding Vegeta and Nappa.
